Directions to the Hilton Greenville

From Charlotte: Take I-85 south to Exit 51 (I-385 North) in Greenville. Travel I-385 to Exit 39 (Haywood Road). Turn right at the light at the end of the off ramp onto Haywood Road. Turn left at first light onto West Orchard Park Road. The Hilton is on the left. (Or you may take a left at the second light onto Pelham Road and then take a left onto West Orchard Park Road.)

From Asheville, NC: Take I-26 south to Exit 54 (US 25). Continue on US 25 towards Greenville. Just south of Travelers Rest, take a left onto Poinsett Highway (Highway 276). Continue on Poinsett Highway to North Pleasantburg Drive (291); turn left onto 291. Continue on 291 to I-385 South. Take I-385 South to Haywood Road ( Exit 39). Turn left at the light at the end of the off ramp onto Haywood Road. Turn left at the light at West Orchard Park Road. The Hilton is on the left. From north of Anderson: Take I-85 South to exit #27, turn left onto Hwy 81 South.  Continue to follow 81 south to Main Street.  Turn Left on to Main. Go 4 blocks to Orr Street.  Turn right.  Park in parking area across from McGee’s Irish Pub.  Church meeting hall is in the basement of former bank building in front of parking area.

From south of Anderson: Take I-85 North to exit #19 to Anderson.  Follow Clemson Boulevard/North Main Street (28) to Orr Street. Turn right.  Park in parking area across from McGee’s Irish Pub.  Church meeting hall is in the basement of former bank building in front of parking area.

First Day of Unleavened Bread: 2 PM, Thursday, April 9 at Anderson County Library

From north of Anderson: Take I-85 South to exit #27, turn left onto Hwy 81 South.  Continue to follow 81 south until you see the Anderson County Museum, turn left on to McDuffie Street. The library is a couple of blocks on the left.

From south of Anderson: Take I-85 North to exit #19 to Anderson.  Follow Clemson Boulevard/North Main Street (28) to Greenville Street (81).  Turn Left on to Greenville Street.  Go one block and turn left on to McDuffie Street. The library is a couple of blocks on the left.

Blue Ridge Mountain Hike: 10:00 am, Friday, April 10 at Caesar’s Head State Park, HWY 276, northern Greenville County

The meeting location is at Caesar’s Head State Park on Highway 276 north of Greenville.  After viewing the vistas from Caesar’s Head, we will hike 2.2 miles to see Raven Cliff Falls.  The next stop will be Jones Gap State Park, just off Highway 276 back towards Greenville.  Depending on interest, we will hike 1.6 miles to see Rainbow Falls and/or hike 1 mile to see Jones Gap Falls. Hikers should bring their own food and water and bring weather appropriate clothing.  The Caesar’s Head area can be much colder than areas below the mountain.

From Greenville Hilton Hotel: Turn right on to Haywood Road. Turn right to merge onto I-385 N toward Greenville.  Take exit 42 for Stone Ave/US-276 toward Travelers Rest. Turn right at E Stone Ave/US-276. Continue to follow US-276 to Caesar’s Head State Park (around 30 miles from Greenville).  You will go through Traveler’s Rest and Marietta.

From Charlotte: The most direct route is to take I-85 South to the Highway 11 exit in Gaffney (exit 92).  Take Hwy 11 through Chesnee and Campobello (you will cross I-26 and US 25) to Hwy 276.  Follow 276 to Caesar’s Head Visitor’s Area.

From Atlanta: Take I-85 North to South Carolina Exit 1 just across the SC/GA state line. Bear right off I-85; turn left on to Hwy 11. Take Hwy 11 through Walhalla/West Union to Highway 276 (about 45 miles from I-85).  Turn left and take 276 to Caesar’s Head State Park.

Please note that the last five miles will likely take you 15-20 minutes since you will be on very curvy roads with lots of switchbacks.

In Case of Rain: If it rains, we will cancel the hike.  Currently, there is a forecast for thunderstorms on Friday.  We are looking for an alternate activity that will be cheap and dry.  If it appears rain is likely we will email alternate plans Thursday.  Pray for good weather!
